Welcome to GunCleaningKit.org
Maintaining proper weapon maintenance is the key to longevity and reliability. When shopping for a new gun cleaning kit, it’s important to find a kit with a wide range of brushes for different barrel calibers as well as several rods to accommodate multiple barrel lengths, among other things.
This site is dedicated to discussing the various gun cleaning kit options, as well as providing resources and recommended kits for the shooting enthusiast.
What else do you normally recommend in addition to the standard rods, brushes, and oil/solvent that comes in most kits? Anything additional you’ve found that helps maintain your weapons?
Hi John,
I like to also carry paper towels, Q tips, a cleaning mat (or an extra towel can work well), and I’ve also found a dental pick to be a great way to clean carbon out of areas that are too narrow for Q tips or brushes to reach.
